Thanks! That plow looks much nicer than some of the cruder castings I've seen, and would only need a small patch to fill in the cutout for the Ridgeway downtube to be right for 1910,

If the value of money keeps going down I guess we should get more of that money for our goods including trains. Unfortunately most brass is not a good investment... PBL Foreground models were that much or more back then too...

Considering that it's probably from a coal-fired locomotive or stationary boiler, it probably was in a smoke-filled home at some point. The description also encourages people to ask questions. I'm tempted to ask about price, but "are you freakin' kidding me?" is as polite a question as I can come up with, and that still seems a bit rude. The starting bid is more than I paid for my first house or all ten cars I've purchased in my life combined. I assumed it was a typo since it's almost 100 times as much as the seller's next highest item, but it's been up for a few days now and hasn't been changed. |

I'm glad I'm done traveled as that 117,500.00 US D =164,525.39 NZ Dollars and is more than I ever spent on 10 trips to the US/Canada + my 2 acre property purchase combined.

I love how some people put "happy bidding" when only one, or, depending on the sale price, maybe none of the bidders will be "happy".

For C&S folks living in Europe, there are a couple of Overland Sn3 locomotives just listed in Germany:
C&S B4-C number 60 with pilot plow: https://www.ebay.com/itm/294245986299?hash=item44826d6ffb:g:D0cAAOSwP25g13gX C&S B3-B number 22. c.1918 (appears to be a 1st run--a fast runner): https://www.ebay.com/itm/294245984940?hash=item44826d6aac:g:74AAAOSwqGVg13dp Both are listed for 700.00 Euro, with 100.00 Euro shipping. For the equivalent of about $950.00, you can have your locomotive imported, if you desperately want one. My, how inflation has affected C&S brass prices!

Good Morning
Hope you are all well. There is an OMI 5 for sale in On3. https://www.ebay.com/itm/144102896008?hash=item218d33b188:g:dA0AAOSwOnVg42EQ Just to understand: would this number be considered rare? Have a good day Christian |

Yes, Christian, it is rare. Overland didn't import many of the early version of C&S number 5. Moreover, this is a one of a kind reworking and painting of the model. The Ridgeway spark arrestor and original tender would date the model to about 1918. I believe that the owner was inspired by this Otto Perry portrait of C&S 5 in Denver in 1918:
![]() The headlight isn't quite right, looks like a modern electric headlight of Santa Fe heritage. And the model doesn't have the pneumatic sanders installed beginning about 1912. This is what the stock O scale C&S 5 looked like custom painted: ![]() But the listed model is nicely done, and is described as DDC installed. So an opening bid of about $700.00 seems quite reasonable.
