I would be interested in knowing if most modelers think most brass is over weather. Locomotives were expensive and the C&S seemed to keep their engines fairly clean. Weathering or grime comes from various locations such as cinders, smoke, oil, road dust, rust and leaking appliances. Photos depending on the angle of the sun, age of photo can show engines fairly shinny to dirty. Photos of most Leadville based engines show them to be fairly clean. Photos of Platte Canon engines show them to be a little more grimy.
