Stamp Mills

Hi

Can you tell me if there were any Stamp Mills on the C&Sng?
And if not did they ship it to mill close by?

And did anyone ever build the Western Scale Stamp Mill in Sn3?
I know the machines are not available from WSM any more but Wild West Models bought them all.

Well there were one or two or more at Blackhawk, Silver Plume, Georgetown, Empire, Dumont, Fall River, Idaho Springs, and Alma, Fairplay, Leavick, Breckenridge, Romley.....maybe I missed some places.

You could start reading the list in  reply to your last asking, in the Idaho Springs threads there were references about some shipments to various Mills from nearby Mines

The Fifty and the New York in Blackhawk were probably the closest in design to the Western Scale version, which is more the San Juan region style Mill.

I think at least Blackhawk, Idaho Springs, and St. Elmo would have had stamp mills.

Next I'm building the Western Scale Models Stamp Mill in O-Scale.

Quite how you could get up there with the winter we have had I hate to think, I know they are buried around Alma, forget the Plows you need to be dug out. Long way to snow shoe.

My understanding is that the money is in the water rights, well if the water can be cleaned up.

I wish I could have found all the machines in S-Scale but its not going to happen.  But I do have all the ones for the O-Scale one.
So that's what I'll build.

I like the look of the Leavick Mill.
I just may use that as an idea on how to build my Mill at Romley.
It may not be the correct one, but I think it will fit my layout well.

Hey guys thanks for the pictures.

As far as the Stamp Mill I have the Clean-Up barrel done.  Been trying to finish the Ore feeders.

Hopefully some pictures before beach weather gets here in Jersey!!
