Anyone else find this a little unsettling?

I usually do not have an upset stomach until AFTER dinner.

Holy crap! This IS news. I hadn't heard a word about it. A couple weeks later and this would be passed off as an April Fools prank.

Aw, man!

This means each of us will need to inventory all our stashes of Grandt NBWs, turnbuckles, brake wheels, queen posts, etc., to see what we're going to need for the rest of our lives!

Can you imagine trying to find an odd NBW set on eBay??

Absolutely, Jim.

Don't forget those wood framed coach seats that are much like those used on the C&S. Think ahead to all those things like passenger car interiors that you've been putting off for years. And passenger cars you've been putting off for years. (Trucks!!!)

This is worse than losing Floquil. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that as much as 1/4 to 1/3 of all the stuff Grandt Line has made over the years is in closets, boxes in basements and stashes long forgotten just waiting for a day that may never come.

So stay stocked up, my friends.....

Anyone who buys them out is buying a very specialized injection molding business. As I understand it, Model Railroading is only part of a larger enterprise (or used to be) which does (or did) custom commercial work. This involves extremely expensive equipment and skill. Not a stand alone Model Railroad  business, or cottage business like Back Shop was.

The sad fact is, "builders", or serious craftsman modelers, and suppliers, are getting pretty long in the tooth and the numbers are dwindling.
