Building up the Dormers and realized I had made the roof 1/2" too tall, bugga will have to build a new roof otherwise it will not look right. Paul R.

The roof has been rebuilt, the dormers look better this time round. Is there an interior plan, I need to have interior walls, I am not going to detail the interior just want it to look right. Paul R.

Ready to shingle the roof, a couple of questions- the valleys of each dormer were they flashed with metal( out here we used galvanized iron)  ? The area on the main roof( gutters?) metal as well? .Nearly done. Paul R.

I wondered that as well for the Kokomo depot (at the bottoms of the gable ends).  I never found any data one way or the other, but went with rusty metal:

Re: Leadville Depot Parts in HO!

Paul, sorry it has taken a while, but I was able to scale down the Leadville Passenger and Freight Depot parts to HO. They are also available in O and S on my Shapeways site (Poverty Flats Model Company).

The Passenger Depot windows and doors are on two sprues and one includes windows for the airlock on the west side. The roof brackets with the curved bottom chord and the dormers are available in HO and O; I still need to post the parts in S.

The Freight Depot windows and freight doors and criss-cross brackets for the trackside are available in all three scales. I did not include the man doors, as I modified my own using Grandt Line parts.

Sorry, Jeff, I have not had a chance to scale down the Kokomo sprue to HO--this window and door package is available in S and O. Also on my to-do list is to package up the parts for the Fort Logan/ Estabrook/ Dome Rock parts so you can get what you need in one easy purchase to build these cool early depots.

So go order yourself some parts and scratchbuild these two buildings. Then post photos of your builds here, because, well, we all like to watch other people work!

Do you all suppose that is a sand house next to the water plug? Or lubrication?

Keith,

did you ever get an answer to this?  I have a feeling I saw it listed as a Coalshed somewhere.

Chris, thanks for keeping track!

I don't know that I ever heard what that building is. Being that the photo shows a caboose next to it it may well have been a coal shed used to supply the cabeese fleet.

Re: Leadville Depot

Not a problem Keith,

I was back tracking on some research links that I had lost and came across that unanswered Q.

The 1918 Valuation lists it as a Coal Shed, and the 1937 Sanborn lists as R.R. Supplies.

It looks like the U.P RR version had an additional toilet block but the image previously posted is too blurry to make out.
