Greetings, Tom! Thanks so very much for the kind words. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
The Pacetti family is heading west, a week from today and 1st big stop is a 3-day visit with my Naval Academy roommate, followed shortly thereafter by a 3-day trip to Coos Bay, OR, to ride the dunes in our Polaris Rzr. I’m old but I’m still a “no guts, no Air Medal, kinda guy🤣.
After that it’s off to the trails west of Yellowstone, including a trek down the old UPRR right-of -way and a trip to the Paiute Desert Trails in Utah.
Some time around the 26th of May, Bob Schoppe and I are going to meet and start finalizing the photo library and manuscript for our Como Photo History book. Would love to see you, as well.
There is a photo of the C&Sng crew husbanding a locomotive on the coaling trestle, that I’d like to use, but I want to make sure I do it properly and get the owner’s permission.
When I interviewed C&Sng engineer, Andy Anderson, shortly before his passing, the last thing he told me was…”Don, when an old person dies, it’s like a library burning down.” So I want to publish the Echoes of Como Photo History, before “the fire reaches my door.” Hope to see you soon, all the best, Don
