My application is off-topic, but I am hoping the commonality of parts
will find some good advice here ....
I am wanting to build some electrical stuff in a way that incorporates
"units" ... switches and lights, etc. that employ spade connectors for ease
of removing parts of the system for repair or maintenance. The lights
are tiny diode lights, set in special mountings. I need to mount these to
a backer board of some sort, with terminal connectors on the back. I have
a similar deal with the switches. Everything is made up of parts, with
soldered connections within each component.
The question I have is, where do I find generic terminal blocks/strips
that incorporate male (or female) spade connections that I can build into
my components to allow an easy push-on/pull-off of connecting wires to
allow easy changeout of parts ? Been all over Amazon and eBay, and while
spade connectors are sold all day long for crimp or solder connections, I
am finding none that might attach with a tiny machine screw and nut (or
other option I have not thought of yet ?) to attach the spade connectors
firmly to a backer board that I would attach the lights to the front of. I
am open to building my own this way, or perhaps such things are already
made and sold ? I just don't know what to call them and by extension,
where to look.
Do any of you deal with similar problems when wiring up your layouts
and fixtures ?
