Denver 3 rail remnant

Kurt Maechner
I came across these images of some remaining 3-rail trackage in Denver via the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum (a 2013 discussion).  One member claimed they were from the C&S narrow gauge, while another said, "I think that 3-rail track is from the tie plant in that area of North Denver."  I assume that comment means that the track is not old C&S narrow gauge.  Does anyone know the truth about these?

The original post describes the location as: "The crossing is located is located at West 56th Avenue. It is an industrial area off I-25 near a large store called Oak Express."

Yeah, that 3 rail stuff is at or was at the old Koppers (Coppers?) plant, it was not C&S. They had some old 3' gauge rolling stock they used to haul poles and ties around their yard for Creosote treatment. I believe some of the 3 rail stuff at CRRM came from there. I don't know if any of it remains, but that is what it was.

The last time that I was there, all the three rail track was gone, except for some road crossings.

Pity, too, as there are a few local museums and tourist lines that could have used the three rail turnouts.

The Colorado RR Museum got several dual point frogs from Koppers. I think three of them
are in use on the front track at the Museum. keith

Edit I think the narrow gauge track is C&S. The main line goes right by there, and when I was
hauling containers, A BN switcher switched Koppers.
