Thanks for the clarification on the end door, Mike--I saw it when I zoomed in on my phone.

The photo Chris posted by Otto Perry of the train at Leadville is one of my favorites--an 'establishing shot' in the parlance of Trevor Marshall. Based on Hayes' information the mail car in the image is either the 11 or 12, the 10 having been disposed of in 1929.

Why would anyone run a stock car in a passenger train?
