What White man-made structures exist beneath Shadow Mountain Reservoir in the Grand Lake Community, located in Grand County, Colorado?

ROMO
Greetings, it's Andrew Wolf here again. This is my second and final post for the evening. I need to find out what White man-made places, or even communities, lie beneath Shadow Mountain Reservoir in the Community of Grand Lake Colorado in Grand County, Colorado. I am genuinely eager to learn about everything that was constructed before the artificial lake was created.

I am looking for photographs, postcards, and maps from before the establishment of Shadow Mountain Reservoir, detailing what existed there. Additionally, I need to know what was physically relocated for safety, as well as what was carefully dismantled and reassembled elsewhere to accommodate the creation of the reservoir.

I require images, postcards, and maps that illustrate not only the buildings and structures but also the homes and also there garages, outbuildings and also structures, farms, prime farmsteads, homesteads, ranches, dude ranches, and cemeteries that were moved to safety, dismantled, and reassembled in new locations to clear the way for Shadow Mountain Reservoir.

Moreover, I need photographs, postcards, and maps of both historical and current locations as of February 2026, including the newly assigned street addresses. Thank you for all your assistance thus far; I appreciate your continued fantastic help. Sincerely, Andrew Wolf.

Andrew,
The lake is only 37 feet deep at its greatest depth. Some areas are as shallow as 5 feet. The time frame for the construction of the lake was 1944 to 1946. There are parts of the lake that have tree trunks showing about the water line when the lake water level is low. They just cut the trees off above the snow line during construction. I used to live in Ground County and remember seeing the tree trunks when Shadow Mtn Lake was low.
The area the lake covers had some ranches and supposedly an airstrip. Anything that was there that would hinder navigation on the lake would have been removed. Given the short time frame for this I don't image much photography was going on. 1946!

You might send a letter to the Editor of the Sky-High News to see if any of the families still living in the area might have any photos or information to share,

I asked about a movie filmed in Grand County called " On Dangerous Ground" and got lots of replies to my question from people living
there at the time. Grand County folks are very helpful.

Re: What White man-made buildings and also structures/homes that were moved and also relocated to safety to make way for exist beneath Shadow Mountain Reservoir in the Grand Lake Community, located in Grand County, Colorado?

Then I suppose we encountered another inquiry regarding what was previously present, constructed by white man, which indeed used to be located where the lake's bottom is now, at the foundations of all of the buildings, structures, and homes that were relocated for safety and also, where are they all now right here right now that were indeed moved and also relocated to safety to make way for.Shadow Mountain Reservoir and also if so, where and also what is the name of that airstrip and also what did they used to use it for??.

These entities once existed beneath what is now the Shadow Mountain Reservoir Additionally, could you provide me with the work and personal email addresses of all the individuals you mentioned, along with their full names?

 Furthermore, do they prefer to be addressed as Mr., Mrs., or Miss?

 Also, what was the name of the airstrip?

I would greatly appreciate your assistance with all of this, Mr. Charles McMillan, if possible. That would be truly wonderful. I hope this request is not too much of an inconvenience, and I also need to know all of their full names as well.

I will be responding to my other posts;

 this is Andrew Wolf, and I want to express my gratitude for everything. Sincerely, Andrew Wolf.
