Todd Hackett Visits Dickey

After a very long time and a lot of water both over and under the bridges, Todd Hackett visited Dickey today.

As most of you are aware, a much younger Todd created a great deal to Dickey in the 80's. The coaling dock, enginehouse, depot and more are among his work here. Welcome home, old friend!

It was long overdue. I took a few quick photos while I was there, just hand-held snapshots using room light while we chatted. More are here, along with some photos from Kenosha, Como, Boreas, and Keystone from Saturday.

Yes, Paul. That was my first C&S locomotive. A Christmas gift from my Dad in 1965. I will fix it up and display it. Tender drive, PFM 2-8-0. Sort of the "Granddaddy of them all".

I believe that's a 6-1/2" scale 20" gauge live steam model in O scale. Must be going to an amusement park.

That is terrific!!! I’m so glad that the water level had receded, and everything dried out so well.

Todd,
I really like the gondola with the faded block lettering showing through. Nice work!

Good one, Kurt! I told Todd the other day that that particular car has gotten as much attention on the railroad as anything else! And deservedly so. It was built from an original On3 Model Masterpieces Type 3 Gondola which was released in 1979. One of Don Meeker's projects. It was also released as a Colorado Scale Models kit afterward.
