I was browsing the Dorman collection, looking for early reefers and found this "builders photo".

Thought it might fit well here.

Thanks for the builders image, Jim.

Here is the just about done model:

Using some of the tips from the military guys, I spattered some paint on what must have been a cast piece over the center sills.

I guess I had best build a coal load!

I am calling this project done.

Thanks to everyone for contributing to the discussion and the kind comments. If you have one of these kits, I hope this inspires you to get it out of the box and build it. It is a well designed kit of an unusual car and is surprisingly easy to assemble to excellent results.
