ComoDepot
Thanks for posting, the Depot looks like its very early format before it was extended?

The Burlington colour scheme came along in the 1920's.

I have not seen many people model the Pacific, obviously selectively compressed, it was a big building.

Dan Windolph did it and Andrew Dodge did pre -Pacific "extended Gilman" with a Pacific styled porch.

Love the hotel.

I recently picked up some of the Monster Modelworks brick (and split log) walls, but I haven’t tried them out yet.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Re: South Park Paul R, models

Thanks for all the comments,
It is a shortened version of the depot, I was debating which colour scheme to do it. the early photo has it a dark colour, that's why I decided on that.
The hotel is still waiting to be finished- doors, window glass and some interior . The building is as long as I could fit in and has the set back as the Mellon Photo shows.
The coal pockets have a lot of work yet,it separates into 3 parts so I can spike the rail down. It has been narrowed to fit where it sits - a miscalculation when I did the tracklaying, which is also the reason for the mirror image and only 6 pockets.
Love the comments, makes me a better modeler. Paul R.

Nice work. I like the Pacific.
I am in need of building a Hotel. I go back and forth as to what one to model for my layout.
There is the option of building the  Pacific the day after it burnt down.
Great to see pictures of other peoples layout.
HOn3 is the path I have chosen.

ComoDepot
You could have a smoke generator?

It did cover a very large area,  whatever scale you are in.

I thought someone would have picked me up on the dual gauge track, all handlaid using copperclad sleepers as well as spiked, points( switches) using a Fasttracks Jig. Will sort out some photos of the rest of the layout. This is a portable layout which I use at the local club exhibition( yearly) has 2 yard areas called- Romley and Hancock. Paul R.

I recognized the bridge as the one at Romley before reading your description. Witch in my mind means you have made a good model of it. You will need to use your computer to rotate the photo before uploading it. Faststone is a nice free program that can do that, resize and some other stuff also. http://www.faststone.org/

I love this thread. I do have a question about the the coaling facility. Is there any drawings available for it? And for the depot as well? I am going to try my hand at scratch building a few of these things.
Thanks

There is a lot of information about the coal chutes, including some drawings in a past thread:

There are drawings of the Pitkin/Pine Grove/Dickey (open) coaling docks in "Structures of the Early West" by Joseph Crea and Elwood Bell, 1975.

There are drawings of the Como depot in "Colorado Railroad Structures from the Heart of Narrow-Gauge Country Vol II" by Klass Gunnink, 1988.

Mike Blazek also sells plans of the depot.

I believe Todd Hackett might have had drawings of the Como (roofed) coaling dock.  (And they might even be posted in the thread Jim pointed to.)

Cheers,
Jeff.
