Riverview Tank Supports

Doug Heitkamp
Here are some pics of the Riverview water tank supports as they exist today (8/18/2019) and a pic from the turn of the century.

Thanks for the pictures Doug. Just what do we think is happening in the first photo?

I think they are filling the cars with Rocky Mountain Spring water to haul to Golden to mix another batch of Coors! Ok, maybe not. The cars are derailed and this is another view of the 1902 Riverview wreck.

I rendered that TOC photo to 3D so I could rotate it a bit to show the bottom, moved the crop plane back to eliminate the freight cars, then enhanced it a bit:

Didn't you believe me when I said it was digitally manipulated from your photo? Actually, it just arrived in a small lot of snapshots from Colorado, Florida, and probably Missouri. I wasn't sure where it was located, but it is identified as Riverview on the back, and a search turned up the location on this forum. Here's the rest of the image:

Todd,

I looked at the calendar and it isn't quite April 1st...yet. What a great picture! It's amazing how many "new" old pictures keep turning up. Well done.

Yet another great photo, along with Buffalo and Pine.

Any of the photos dated?  From the clothing I would guess mid to late 1920s . . .

No dates. The only writing on the backs was to identify the tank at Riverview.
