Research Request.

Chris Walker
Does anyone have a complete set of Daniel W. Edwards Documentary History of the South Park and would care to look through for some specific(assuming it was even covered) info for me please?  If I recall on one trip, Caboose Hobbies only had a copy of one intermediate volume left, back then, so I didn't take up the purchase of an incomplete set, much to my regret.

Thanks,

Chris, only 3-5 years ago I purchased these online, several directly from Dan. I believe they are still available. I don't have the full set, though. Since they're arranged by division or minor branch, if you have a specific area of the line we could figure out which volume.

Thanks Rick, for reaching out; I was unaware that the "Reply to Author" only works on thread replies, not to the thread starter post.
I pm'd you a reply.

Same for Dave chiming in as well, much appreciated.

After several evenings delving into the Newspapers, a result has been obtained, which removed all doubt. This is an area that has been overlooked in all of the Books so far(that I own; the majority published), and is part of the greater story of Leadville.

One just needs to find the key words that the "search" will pick up on, rather that relying on what you think it will find. Often that same phrase will be missed in the key areas of searching.

Of course I could just read each issue of three papers over 10 years eh!

Again, Thanks to Rick and Dave for responding.

Sorry I couldn't specifically help on this chase.

I agree on the search words. I find I'll start with what I believe, hit some articles that may be related but offer other key words, try those, rinse, repeat... Even knowing the correct search word the digitizer misses the word thanks to bad inking, a fold, a tear, etc. Sometimes search in online historic papers feels like using a metal detector to find a plastic part. And yet I can't stop hunting.

I'll be feeling that online search beats the old days of just reading every issue on a microfilm viewer until I find I have to just knuckle down and read every issue anyway...
