RIP Baby Doe Tabor

On this day in 1935, 89 years ago, Baby Doe Tabor's body was found, frozen, at the old Cabin at the Matchless Mine above Leadville where she had lived for 35 years. Although she refused any charity, Doug Schnarbush told me every fireman shoveled a scoop of coal as they passed the Matchless. She would come out with a bucket to pick it up. But 1935 was a real bad Winter, and her last.

Quite an interesting Colorado story. Riches to Rags. May she rest in peace unforgotten.
