October 2016 photos--Kenosha to Breckenridge

SteveG
Hi all,
Had a chance to retrace the C&S route from Kenosha Pass down through Jefferson, Como, Boreas, and into Breckenridge enroute to a wedding in Aspen in early October. Also had a chance to see the Georgetown Loop railway, with its near-C&S replica 2-8-0 from Nicaragua. Have a bunch of pics to share, will break this into several posts for readability:
First, some pictures of what remains of the Kenosha pass summit wye:

Jefferson Depot:

Como:
Tender side and view of the roundhouse

Station and hotel
New rail and speeder, looking toward roundhouse

Former saloon and street

Hope this is of interest, and if it is, will follow up with Boreas Pass road photos, C&S #9 and other equipment in Breckinridge's Railroad Park, and the Georgetown Loop photos.

Cheers,
Steve Guty

Looks like a great trip. I do question the veracity of the baby blue depot color though!

Oh, the horror.  A D&RGW star switch stand on the Kenosha wye?  (Can we borrow one of the Elliots or Budas in Como for it?)

Anyway, great pictures, Steve!  Thanks for sharing.

Cheers,
Jeff.

Here are the photos from Boreas Pass Road:

Need to organize the Breckenridge "Ice Rink and Railroad Park" (odd combination for a park, but hey, not complaining about anything that preserves the equipment) photos--lots of detail on C&S #9 and the rotary, plus a box car and a somewhat suspect caboose #1012.
Will try to get those up in the next day or so.

"Will try to get those up in the next day or so."
Something about best-laid plans comes to mind, but I'm finally getting around to this.
I realize that I wasn't as disciplined as I'd planned in taking these shots--I'd intended to do overall shots of each subject and then do detailed photos. With that apology out of the way, here's what I've got:

Caboose 1012????

I suspect this is someone's replica of an actual caboose, first note the link and pin coupler, then

Note number over door??

the number over the door is one greater than any known C&S caboose. But if you can afford to model in 1:1 scale, who says you can't freelance a bit?

I have somewhat more faith in the authenticity of the boxcar:

But as you can see, I got caught up in details pretty early.

Since #9 was moved here from the Georgetown Loop, it was great to be able to get up close:

Last subject at the Breckenridge park is the rotary:

Finally, a couple quick shots of the Nicaraguan 2-8-0 in service e on the Georgetown Loop railway on the way back to Denver:

Hope I didn't overtax the servers here; I can delete some of these to free up space as needed.
