NNG - last week at Wortman

Matt Hutson
Hi guys,
The LC&S has stored some fifty year old Elgin, Joliet and Eastern Railway gondolas on the siding that used to go to the Storke level portal at Climax. The siding branches off at milepost 139.

Here's a view facing east toward Mount Democrat:

Another view a bit further east toward Denver:

The siding with the milepost on the left:

The railroad ultimately plans to convert these into passenger cars. For now, it's fun to imagine there's still freight service on the old narrow gauge line.

Cheers,
Matt

Matt,

These were trucked in i would guess, there being no active rail connection.

Thanks for sharing these! I agree, it is fun to imagine freight still on the line with those photos.
