Important and Welcome News... re: Grandtline

Over the past week or so, there has been a great deal of concern and even distress over the impending closure of Grandtline, and the impact it would have on the hobby. I have been contacted by a member of a group which in the final stages of a contract that would not only allow the business to continue, but also offer new items in the line that could include new products.

The group wants to continue this to conclusion, and feels anonymity is the best course at this juncture. But they also want to reveal that they are working hard to complete the deal. I believe this is the first such message to that end.

It is hoped that an announcement will be made next month at the O Scale West show next month in California.

I'm sure this will be excellent and welcome news to all of us. The group at it's core wants to save this important supplier and continue to produce the high quality of products we have come to expect from Grandtline over these many years. As you know, Grandtline has not only produced their own line of products, but they have supported many other suppliers with parts for countless other projects as well.

The most important thing at the moment is not to be worried, all parties are working toward a mutual resolution that will work out well for all parties. Including customers such as ourselves.

So lets all wish them well as they march on to get this done. For now, I doubt much if anything else will be disclosed, but we will pass along any news that becomes available as it happens. Quite an honor for this forum to have it first.

Good morning and I hope all are enjoying a reflective Memorial Day Weekend.

On April 23, I posted the above regarding the news that a group was involved in the acquisition of Grandtline, and that it was planned that an announcement would be forthcoming at the O Scale West show, which has now concluded.

Progress has definitely been made, and continues. Due to perfectly understandable circumstances, they aren't quite ready to make such an announcement, but that should be forthcoming soon.

As evidence, please read Dave Grandt's update on the Grandt Line Home Page at: https://www.grandtline.com/

Stay tuned, everything is still on track.

This post was updated on .

A caveat to what you are reading and hearing......

As stated above, there is still no formal announcement, no matter what you read or where you read it. Let things play out, with the understanding that there are actually reasons this has not been formally announced. Sometimes rumors are true, sometimes they aren't.

There are also sensitivities of those who are involved to be considered and respected that are unknown to the public.

This is certainly not your fault, and I'm not being critical of you personally, and I'm not able to confirm or deny anything.

When it becomes official, you'll know it. Stay tuned and please be patient.

We will see what we see on Grandt line.

I was just looking at their Garage Sale and see they have some S scale C&S brass 6 spoke brake wheels.

Since there are some S scalers here they might be interested.
