Greyhound Bus in Dickey today

This post was updated on .
Greetings.

1937 Ford Greyhound Bus bound for the Anthem Ranch train club. 1:43, arrived today from France. Ebay. Joe Crea has already built a Greyhound Station in cardboard in anticipation of it's arrival.

The sight of this bus in Dickey has stirred up quite a bit of discussion. Next thing you know, there might be electricity in Como!

I've never seen an early model of a '30's bus. Have to admit it's pretty cool.

Don't let that Greyhound steal passengers from the C&S! Well, if it's 1937, it's lost cause anyway.
Nice bus!

Now if you can get that to be a left hand hound rather than right hand hound one could put that in today's Colorado's Bustang line up to Frisco! Tom Klinger

Funny, the only real picture I've found so far shows the right side version. I looked online and learned that Greyhound only operated in the UK between 2009 and 2015. So, I'm not sure what's up with that. But yes, very cool. The '38 version was different. There may be more information on the Greyhound Museum site.

The model is of a vehicle used by Greyhound Coaches, which is now Greyhound Australia (not related to Greyhound Lines in the US). That's why it has the passenger door on the left, and presumably the driver on the right. A Greyhound bus in Dickey in the 1930s would have been lettered for Greyhound Lines.

If it made it into Dickey, it would have got muddy and dusty.....

Well, this is just a stopover, the bus is on its way to Crea City, on the Anthem Ranch Model RR Club, which features both old American Flyer and mystical On30 lines and scales. Joe has built probably close to 300 of his cereal box structures, including an Art Deco Greyhound Bus Station. He is currently at work on a structure based on the Old 100 Boarding House. Anything goes there, and the members are a terrific bunch of characters.

Thanks Todd and Chris for your information. Since the Greyhound logo appears to be identical to the old Greyhound logo, I'm perfectly fine with it going to Crea City. In fact, the reality and the right handed orientation only make it more perfect.
