Gilpin Tramway photo collection

Norm Acker
I ran across this great collection of GT photos this morning, it looks like a Swedish photo posting site. Lots of wonderful pictures that I've never seen before.

Apologies if this link has been posted here previously.

Thanks for posting the link to the photo site.

I think many of the photos were culled from the former FreeRails Gilpin Tram thread. Many of the photos appear to be the same ones I posted back in the day (2012-2022), and most of the photos I used came from the Denver Public Library collection, Mark Baldwin, John Robinson, and several other online sources. I cropped many of the original images to show the photo subject better, and these same to match what is on the site. Parts of the same Gilpin Tram thread can be found on the Wayback site, too.

This means the same photos shown on the Swedish site are also available online from other sources, too. And, I archived all the 1000+ images I had originally posted on that FreeRails thread, so if anyone is looking for something specific, let me know and I'll be happy to share what I have.

I had intended to post some stuff on the Gilpin Tram on the C&Sng group this year, but life kind of got in way, mainly due to a household move from Minnesota to Arizona.

Hopefully, in 2025, I will be able to resume some postings!

Good to see these were preserved. I loved that thread on freerails. Looking forward to your posts on that again. (must have been quite a climate change from Minnesota to Arizona too!)
