I was wondering if this bit of "unique to the C&S" habit of cleaning out the front end at a waterstop on the way upgrade, similar photographs were shown in the Mineral Belt V-3 and alluded to in the model on Harry's UC&N would come to mind when I started this thread.

Quandary! Are then the piles from a carload that has been shovelled out I wonder? Elk Cr. and Riverview seem an awful long way from Denver to haul to dump so what other ideas does anyone have on this gritty matter. {:))
p.s. Note that the Section House Chimney has grown somewhat between the photos.
