Hello everyone, it’s me again, Andrew Wolf, and I have a few questions for you all. Did the town/village of Grand Lake, Colorado, along with Drake, Glen Haven, and Jamestown/Springdale, ever feature a train line and depot, including both passenger and freight facilities, or was it a mix of the two? If so, could you provide the names of the different train companies that were involved? I would be very grateful for all photographs, postcards, and maps related to those train lines. Furthermore, did Devil's Gulch, where Glen Haven is located, ever have a train line? What was the name of the railway company that laid train tracks in Devil's Gulch, Colorado, and in all the other places I’ve mentioned? Were there any train lines that connected Grand Lake with Granby, Colorado, or any rail links between Grand Lake and other nearby communities? Lastly, what exactly is or was Grand Lake Junction? I understand it was a stop on the Rocky Mountain Railway Company and was located south of Highway 34, near where the ashes from the Lulu Mountain volcano Ashes are I possess a ticket that illustrates this stop, so I can provide assistance if needed. Thank you, and please reply as soon as you receive this message so I know it has arrived. I also request all photographs, postcards, and maps of all those various locations where the train Tracks were and still are Train Tracks or at least right-of-way is and what remains of those train lines today, from November 2025 to December 2025. Have any of the old train tracks been converted into rail trails, or did highways and interstates cover them all up on or are some of them underneath Lake Granby and shadow Mountain Reservoir were or still are they completely moved and relocated to safety? Lastly, what remnants exist from all of those different train companies, lines, depots, and stations, and where are they located? What are their current, past, or future addresses and also what is going to happen to them all will they be saved and preserved and if so what were they be used for and what are they being used for right now? Or are they abandoned? Or will they all be demolished or have they been already demolished for sometime or just now? be If anything has been preserved at. all, I would really truly and totally appreciate your help in finding it. That would be incredibly awesome. Thank you very much. Please get back to me as soon as you can so I know you received this message. Best regards, Andrew Wolf. PS I hope you all can help me find something anything whatsoever actually will come out with something unlike the last one for pre Rocky Mountain National Park Transport!

Hi Andrew,
The RMRR never made it into Grand Lake, and it was the only connection to the Moffat built Denver, Northwestern and Pacific Railway at Granby. The site of Monarch is under the Granby Res. ![]() ![]() Hope that helps.

Thank you. I would like to inquire whether a train line ever extended to Grand Lake, Colorado, and if so, what was the name of the train company, and was a train depot established there? My next question concerns a location that I am confident the Rocky Mountain Railway Company did connect to, which is Grand Lake Junction, as noted on the train ticket. Thus, I understand that the train at least made its way to Grand Lake Junction. What was or is Grand Lake Junction?
I am certain that it was or is separate from Grand Lake itself. Furthermore, I am in need of photographs, postcards, and maps of Grand Lake Junction, with the maps depicting its locations, both historical and contemporary, along with information regarding any structures and buildings and homes that were moved and relocated for safety reasons. If Lake Granby encompasses all of Grand Lake Junction, I also require photographs, postcards, and maps of the Grand Lake, Colorado train line, in addition to images of the train depot itself, including both interior and exterior photographs and postcards. Moreover, I would like to know what ultimately became of that train depot in Grand Lake, Colorado. Sincerely, Andrew Wolf.
