Greetings, it's me once again, Andrew Wolf here.
I have a question along with some requests for photographs.
Additionally, I possess information that could prove useful,
specifically regarding the Union Pacific Railroad Company,
which purchased land in Township 10 from Red Feather Lakes,
Colorado.
However, instead of laying down train tracks,
they opted to sell the land for development,
including a resort, as they recognized the potential to profit from the land rather than using it for railroads to fund the construction of the first transcontinental railroad.
It is well-known that the Union Pacific Railroad was not the sole or first train company that attempted to establish a line in the area but ultimately failed to construct one in or around Red Feather Lakes.
This brings me to my inquiry.
Did Red Feather Lakes,
Colorado,
or the surrounding Red feather Lakes area ever get a train line, depot, or station? Were there any other rail companies that actually constructed tracks in Red Feather Lakes and also the Red feather lakes area,
rather than just proposing them?
I am curious to know if any companies successfully built train depots or stations, with trains running along the now-abandoned tracks. Unlike the Union Pacific Railroad, which never got off the ground,
did other rail companies manage to establish a train depot or station,
along with historic train tracks?
What remains of those various companies as of February 2026, and how can I locate them on Google Maps?
What are the current addresses of these former train companies in 2026?
As for my photograph requests,
I would appreciate all photographs, postcards or maps depicting the different train lines and the various depots and stations that were ever constructed in Red Feather Lakes as well as the Red feather lakes area and its vicinity.
I sincerely hope that someone out there can assist me with this inquiry.
Sincerely,
Andrew Wolf
