Depot benches

Norm Acker
Hi group, I am looking for pictures of metal depot benches that would have been seen in the Thirties.

From the various photos I've seen in C&Sng, DSP&P and Tom Klinger's fine books, it appears that the seat and back portion of the bench is made from horizontal metal slats in a metal bench framework. The seat and back look to be contoured in profile to fit sitting passengers.

While attending the Rocky Mountain Train Show here in Denver last weekend I met a 3d printed products vendor who expressed an interest in adding metal benches to his line if I could provide him with pictures. So any decent quality pictures (hi Chris), especially those with closer bench views would be helpful with the project. Thanks in advance for the help!

Here's a starter.....that came to mind.  Off the top of my head, I don't think that they were that common, the Depot's being rather sparse in that sort of platform detail.

I agree with Chris that they don't seem to be very common, but here's one at Buffalo:

Thanks guys! I guess I'll let the 3d guy pick one to build. I did find a couple of examples in the Klinger books as well. I'm looking for the one on the west side of the South Platte depot, not sure where I've seen that picture.

Norm,

I thought the Sth Platte version was wooden like Ft. Logan.

Thanks Chris, you're a wonder. That's exactly what I needed! I guess I just assumed they were more common. Time to get a couple of benches made.

One more obscure query; in the westward-looking photo of the rarely photographed Waterton depot (with the rear end of the Leadville passenger train and a partial view of the coal shed), there is what appears to me to be a large, low, light-colored cylindrical object on the platform to the right of the corner of the depot. Maybe a planter box? Sadly, I can't locate the picture right now to include it...

Thanks again group for the help!

Yes, that's the object in question in Jeff Ramsey's post. I'm wondering now if it's a bundle of wooden slats secured with wire, which would explain it's presence on the freight platform.
