Converting Broadway limited C-16 to a C&S #37.

Fred52
Hi...well I finally am getting that BLM C-16. I'm looking for any suggestions as to making it look like a C&S B-4-B #37. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Its an On 30 loco.

Look at the On30 annuals as there was a conversion of a BL C-16 to an early D&RGW C-16. The new issue coming out has the conversion of a BL C-16 to a D&RGW C-18. These should give you an idea of what needs to be done to make a conversion,

Best of luck

John: I have that edition. 2016 cover featured it. That is a little older than our chosen era. The late period of the C&S. 1920-1939

Go to Facebook and check out Modeling Pre 1895 Steam Locomotives. A post by Allan Houghton shows a video  including  his BLW On30 C&S #37 conversion.

I am a member of that group. I will definitely check that out. The loco arrives here on Tuesday. I will try to post some pictures of it.

Good evening all. The loco arrived today and tonight after doing the dishes I will run on a test track. I am a little apprehensive about the project, but it's going to be a real learning experience. Allan Houghton over on the FB on the modeling pre-1895 locomotives group has been very helpful and has a great video of his back dated loco. Robert, thanks for turning me on to that group. In the foreground of the video there's even a 4-4-0 he reworked into a DSP&P loco.
So I will get a few picture of the loco as it is now and post progress shots.

And so it begins. It is a good base and I hope by fall to have it done.

Would love to see progress reports! I'm contemplating similar surgery on some HOn3 Westside C-16s, and possibly some PSC C-16 kits.
Regards,
Steve
