C&S B-4F locomotives

tonyk375
Working on detailing my B-4Fs in HOn3.  Looking through many pictures and can find no pictures of C&S 76 with a plow.  Anyone ever seen it with a plow?

Tony, I've never seen a picture of #76 with a plow. It did have a hook for the chain behind the headlight, so it could have, and perhaps occasionaly did, but not that I have ever seen in pictures. And certainly not in later years, and never after 1937.

Thanks,  Already had a plow on my 74 and wanted to plow one of the others.  The 76 was going to take a lot more work so had planned to put it on this one but looks like the 75 gets it.

Can't go wrong with that, Tony. Good luck. They are definitely sister engines, but each unique in it's own way.

Tony,

I'm looking forward to some pictures and details as you move forward. Are you using the Balboa or Westside engines as your base? Do you have a specific time frame in mind?
Having done the three B4Fs with lots of trade-offs between proper detail and just-get-them-running, I look forward to cheering you on as you raise the bar a bit. They make a wonderful trio and after all, we HOn3 guys have to stick together. Good luck with them!

When I finish my #71, I'll start on these three.  I did a lot of the #75 and 76 a while back and they got shelved for other projects but injectors and domes were done.  The 74 is a Balboa.  I also have it in RGS (Westside).  The 75 is a Westside Models and the 76 is a PSC semi kit.  Was going to replace the C&S 74 with a Westside but already had a Balboa sitting there.

The #71 is a Key.  It is getting closer.  So far: Changed the undersized bell, whistle and air pump,  Jacket panel in front of fireman door with washout plug, roof hatches, opened cab door on engineer side, Plow with cut levers, air tanks under cab along with other details on both sides under the cab.  Replumbed boiler top tanks,  piping from cab on eng side and pipe in front of FM door. Corrected FM side of boiler top tanks.

The tender has had the klinker rod rack built above the new coal "pallet", retainer with piping, tank stays, valves on rear tank, klinker rod on FM side and water leg valves with shields.

Still needs plow chains, glass, curtains and crew along with another once over to see what I've missed. Then weathering.
