A plea...

Keith Hayes
Folks are sharing so darn much fine information here.

The trouble is that the conversations can wander a bit and first we are talking about a tender, then markers, and next it is McConnell stacks and their associated hardware. So...now I have to remember where someone posted that key tidbit, and they are not always where one might think.

If the conversation takes a turn, please start a new thread with a new topic, and perhaps use the link function above to link back to the previous conversation. It will make it easier for all of us in the future.

Thanks.

You should see my deck, Keith....

and you expect me to be organized?

Best I can do is offer an apology. And try harder.

Besides. None of this was laid out all nice and neat for me. I found no "McAnswers" to make my life easier. Are there any search buttons on this blog? D - I may have to use the avatar you sent me yet! How much time do I spend searching my files for photos (which I have slooooowwwwly organized over the past decade) to share with y'all and you want a nice neat paper trail...?

(Vicki is laughing at me right now because I'm struggling to be ssssssivil)

One suggestion.

Some of these threads are so chok-ful-a information and period photos that they deserve to be preserved in their own right as a future source of reference.

Perhaps Daryl could create a new header on the Home page titiles, for instance "C&SnG Photo Essays".  The tread on Forks Creek was so outstanding, both in unpublished photos and historic information shared, that as Derrell suggested, it could stand on its own as a web based illustrated mini-book.  Perhaps one of the scholarly types with particular interest in the Clear Creek Lines could edit the content and arrange the photos to illustrate the historic information shared, with the photos captioned and dated.  The same could be done for equipment: "B-4F 2-8-0s"  "C&SnG Rotaries" "C&Sng Cabooses, Beginning to End" and places "Romely" "Buena Vista"  "The Mills of Idaho Springs"

I agree, there is so much great stuff posted here, that I lose track of where  to find a particular photo or nugget of information shared.

Derrell,  just trying to make it easier on my (and your) old brain.

Before Christmas I visited a shop where EVERYTHING was labeled. It was a revelation. I had been working on a temporary bench and stuff was all over. Finding parts could take hours.

So I took some of my wife's medicine and started getting organized.

I bought a couple Elfa rolling racks and sorted stuff in the bins. One is scenery and the other has track and wiring. I can roll them to the work site and they double as a bench.

Al discarded some of her jewelry boxes,  which are excellent for parts and NBWs. I got some other storage bins for kits, as I seem to have about 6 under construction at a time, waiting for a part on order, or paint to dry, or just for one of you to spark me back into action.

So, get yourself organized, Derrell. Spend less time looking and more time doing.

Arf!

The search engine for this site and the Blog also, works very, very well.  Try it.  I was impressed.

And I hope to get the Mills of Idaho into a thread soon....too many distractions.

Exactly, Chris. Tooooo many distractions.

Many of the posts in response are full of distractions and my 2D brain, which can only multi task one thing at a time, goes flyin' off in some meteoric direction! There ain't no way I can begin to think; "oh! oh this is a new thread!" Yikes! It's all ONE topic to me - boom! Seee nnnnnnn Esssssss ennnnnn geeeeeeeee..............................
