2019 Sn3 Symposium

Jim Courtney
I just wanted to remind everyone that the Sn3 Symposium will be held the first Thurday-Friday-Saturday of April at the Sheraton Hotel in Bellevue, Washington.

The Narrow Gauge Convention and the Sn3 Symposium are the two best narrow gauge meetings to attend, IMHO.

For more info go to the website: https://www.sn3seattle.com/

There are some great model railroads to visit in Sn3, On3, HOn3 and some standard gauge layouts as well: https://www.sn3seattle.com/layouts. Alas, no C&S narrow gauge layouts I'm afraid.

It appears our own Keith Hayes will be attending, as he will be giving a clinic on 3-D printing. Doug Junda will be present, representing The Leadville Shops. Perhaps Dr Stears will make an appearance as well.

Some of our favorite vendors will be there: the PBL crew, Bill Banta, the McKenzie Brothers, and Wild West Model Builders, in addition to the Leadville Shops.

I actually went ahead and bought a table and am listed as a vendor as well! No, I don't own a model manufacturing company -- I'm using the assembly of narrow gaugers to host "Jim's Premortem Estate Sale". You see, I've been collecting narrow gauge and train stuff for over 50 years, and as I approach retirement I need to thin the herd considerably. Actually, this was my wife's idea, she says if I die suddenly and leave all this train stuff for her to deal with, well, she'll kill me . . .

Anyone from the C&S Forum attending?? If so, bring your favorite C&S model and enter the contest.

Jim,
I'll look forward to seeing you there.  Sadly, as an RGS lurker, I've no C&S models to share.  But I'll happily spend some time shopping at your table (if you can assure me that your wife's radical idea isn't contagious!) and bring along photos of the glacial progress on my Telluride branch.

Jim

Look forward to meeting you.

Your wife's idea is not original.  Saw the same at the last Symposium in St. Louis.

I'll look for you as well! Although I'm working in HOn3, it's always inspirational to see what others are up to in other scales.

I forgot to mention that Pat is giving a clinic on the evolution of D&RG motive power.

Look forward to seeing you, Pat! Bring a couple of those red D&RGW stock cars for the contest!
