Two mountains overlooking Alpine Tunnel namedTwo authors that played a special role in bringing attention to and saving the structures at Alpine Tunnel were honored in '78 by having two mountains named after them. Mt. Poor for M.C. "Mac" Poor, author of Denver, South Park & Pacific and Mt. Helmers for Dow Helmers, author of Historic Alpine Tunnel.
