I looked through the archive of the Rocky Mountain Rail Report, the newsletter of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and put
a post together with some more miscellaneous South Park Line/C&Sng news from the 1973 editions including:
Alpine Tunnel Days
Imagine being able to visit the west portal of Alpine Tunnel with railroaders who worked the line and hear their stories. That's what happened in 1973.
Early work on the Georgetown Loop
For the first time since 1939 a steam locomotive is fired up in Silver Plume. Also, the first bridges and trackwork are put in place.
The DB&W Boulder depot is moved
The railroad that once owned C&S 74, 75, & 76 had a beautiful stone depot. In '73 the depot was moved.
Enjoy!
