I looked through the archive of the Rocky Mountain Rail Report, the newsletter of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and
put a post together with some miscellaneous South Park Line/C&Sng news from the 1970-1971 editions including:
Fighting Snow in Central CityAn outing to the Central City Narrow Gauge Railroad. There is some commentary about the previous year's outing that must have included the need to shovel out the track from snow so the excursion could run.
Resurrecting the Magic Mountain RailroadThere is a small piece that discusses plans to revive the short-lived Magic Mountain Railroad in Golden with Rio Grande Southern engine 42 and two ex-C&S cars, a boxcar and a refrigerator car.
(There was a third excursion car as well-Does anyone know where that car was from? And a caboose)
I also added a short history of the Magic Mountain Railroad and its connection to the Colorado Railroad Museum and the two C&S cars used on it.
Enjoy!
