As to the caboose in the snowy photo at the end of the 3 car freight.

Is that daylight seen through and around individual trucks under the car, or is that white, kinda horizontal swatch, just snow accumulating on top of the air cylinder/reservoir, on the outside of an original 4-wheel underframe?

I can't tell.
