I would strongly caution against imagineering an unfounded solution in favour of omitting the unknown rather than providing a non-prototype solution.
John, I fully understand your angst, I had the same in '94 building my Ph1 Coal car. Just how different was the brake arrangement from the Ph1 or is that also an unknown?
