I had not noticed till now that #69 had a "long haul" tank in the late 30's. After abandonment, it had a much shorter tender.

Were any of the engines built with those long tenders?

Jim, I think that tender behind #72 in the early photo you mentioned is it's correct tender. Maybe Derrell can shed some light on how often they may have been rebuilt or even replaced over the years. #71's tender today measures about 18' 6" long. #74's is 18' exactly.
