Thanks Keith,

I have already download the full Sanborn maps in TIFF format which is enormously details when you magnify.
I thought, I had pretty much read everything on Black Hawk in this forum and then I found the one I missed on the Black Hawk Station being 28ft vs 38ft.   I was just about to post that question figuring it was already answered and sure enough there it was.

This afternoon, I hope to post my layout draft for Blackhawk on a roughly 14' bench.   Been working on it for some time and about ready to display and wait for commentary.  Stay tuned.

Again to everybody, thanks for all the information its been a great resource.

Interesting story on the 28' vs 38' on the station. Harry Brunk had published his plans based on the info in the Colorado RR Museum annual on the Clear Creek "Narrow Gauge to Central and Silver Plume" which showed 38." After that Rick Steele unearthed the valuation forms in the national archives. (amazing how much time he spent on that- pre internet) they showed the correct 28.' Not sure if the 38 was simply a misprint or error in the annual but that was really the best early source out there and Harry used it extensively. To be honest there are a couple of photos out there (and reproduced in the annual) that have beams stacked on the end platform that throw off the proportions of the photo so much it appears wider than what it was.
