As per usual,  I got distracted by other projects. An item on the to-do list is modelling the long coal sheds along the turntable leads. I figured these were built over time and have built two sheds, both in styrene.

I have been watching videos of the military guys doing pre-shading forever. I tried it-barely and decided to dive in all the way this time. I primed with Mr. Surfacer in black. This was followed by a camo stencil using white to vary the surface. Then I used old business cards to make the two stencils. I sprayed sand (tan), grey, brown and Rust on various boards. this was followed by a dusting in rust (Vallejo for boxcar red). Here is the result:

I am really happy with the finished product: it looks darn good for styrene!

I am waiting for my business partner to cut a stencil for me for the hay barn. But with the gun loaded and stencils in hand, I sprayed some grey and brown boards, followed by a light overspray of rust.
