For the correct style of the cupola grabirons on 1003 in C&S days, look at Tim Schreiner's model. They ran the length of the cupola on both sides. At least they did in later days on the C&S.
I was communicating with Robert Bell on this who is a White Pass modeler that I met a while back in Hickory. The US Army Transportation Corps had them rebuilt to some extent. (Chicago Car Company did the work)  1005 received roofwalks by the copula-and it appears so did 1003 from this pic so it would not be surprising they changed some of the grabirons.  Robert said that he had done custom laser roof walks for it and used a Grandt Line kit in HOn3. He was looking at ordering a 1003 from Western Rails.
