I looked through the archive of the Rocky Mountain Rail Report, the newsletter of the Rocky Mountain Railroad Club and put a post together with some more miscellaneous South Park Line/C&Sng news from the 1974 editions including:

The ill-fated Sundown & Southern is born
A project to build a replica town with a 3-foot gauge railroad where people can come to learn to run it was established.  A C&S refrigerator car was amongst its vast collection.

C&S 60's bell is stolen
The engine, on display in Idaho Springs since 1941, has its bell swiped.

Denver Union Station to Close
The Burlington Northern, the C&S's parent company at this point, works up a plan to close the venerable depot.

David Digerness presentation
Digerness, who knew the Clear Creek Line in his youth, and later wrote a three-part book series that covers the line, gives a presentation to the Club.

Shay No. 4 comes to Central City
The Colorado Central Narrow Gauge Railway in Central City gets ex-Westside Lumber Shay No. 4.

Enjoy!
