Thanks Jim
I will look out and post what I find.
I see the issue with the hybrids. On the one hand, they reduce the price of brass but they might also convince other people to get into the hobby. That should keep some of the manufactures in the business.
This forum has certainly helped to keep C&S interest alive. That is really neat and with more people seeing the real thing in Como I hope that they will choose C&S to model.
I guess the points that others have made with now being a good time to sell are certainly valid. We have spent more time at home and also had more time for the hobby. Now we know what models would really be a nice fit to our existing fleet. Some are certainly on the lookout. That being said, I do not believe that brass can be seen as an investment. The fluctuations are just too big and the market too small. I would think that offering models in a forum such as this would give a fair price without the commission. Might be interesting to start a topic here listing prices paid for models. This could help transparency and setting prices when you want to sell.
I'm close to 50 now and I hope to have 25 years of model railroading left. However, who knows what then will be? Most likely we'll be able to relive Como and the ride over Boreas Pass on some kind of holodeck. Who would need models then... ;-)
Thanks for an interesting discussion.
Have a nice Sunday
