With the extended smoke box a pilot deck would be easily fouled when cleaning out cinders.

Just my non-expert opinion.

Here's the first one:



and here's a blowup of the pilot area.  I don't see decking behind the pilot beam, but it's hard to tell exactly what's there.



Can anyone help me decide how to do that part of my model?
