Funny no-one mentioned the fire hydrant in the view there.... t'was the centre of a discussion awhile back....   this view unintentionally yielded this closup.  

Was the "L"shaped pipe for a Drinking Water spigot?  Damned thing lines up with the Truck sideframes.
