Nice, but one little problem.  The on the A-end the outboard face of the car body is coplanar with the outboard face of the end sill as illustrated by the builder's photo of D&RG 1889. This is a feature of all the high side gondolas as built, 9200s 1000s, 1250s and 1500s.

Hey Pat,

Yep, I had noticed that, but until I have time to build some more D&RG gons, these will still make nice stand-ins.

Now the priority is building C&S cars for all three eras. I'm currently doing a marathon build to distract from the soggy November weather:

A pair of Tiffany reefers for 1901

Three UP built 27 foot boxcars for 1901

Three 1900 AC&F stock cars for 1901

An 1898 first order St Charles boxcar, 7700 series, for 1901.

An 1898 St Charles coal car for 1909.

A 1908 C&S built phase 2 coal car as delivered for 1909.

And I'll be receiving four 1898 St Charles boxcars from Bill Meredith soon, 2 for 1901 and 2 for 1909.

When I get bored working on one type of car, I put them aside and start/resume another car type.  I have a history of starting lots of projects and never quite finishing them. Maybe this time will be different!

I did finish a pair of UP built 1882 coal cars for the 1901 roster, with Michael York's type-C trucks:

And I did finish the Litchfield 26' flat car from the Idaho Springs photos:

This car needs Michael York's type-A trucks when he finishes that project, or I'll have to build up a pair of Leadville Shops brass ones. It is very light, will need a load of brass tube, as pipe from the Gold Pan Shops, kind'a like this:

Cabooses and locomotives are another matter that I'll have to address soon . . .
