Re: Vehicles: One for the Mines, Harry Brunk Style.

"And don't forget to dress the mine owner in jodhpurs and a leather jacket! "

I hear jodhpurs are making a comeback, about time I says...

I seem to remember that Charlie Getz did one or two articles on wall signs in NG&SL Gazette.

Re: Vehicles: Harry Brunk's Model Inspiration Photo?

Chris Walker
Harry Brunk modelled a horse-drawn Tankwagon that appeared to be a precursor to the 1910's tanktruck.  Perhaps the owners were not quite ready to adapt to the new era?  Sorry it's not in C&Sng territory.

I used to think Harry Brunk had too many vehicles on his layout for the period: Not anymore.

The trouble with this thread is that it's making me very unhappy that I have no urban areas on my layout. :(

Oh, my Kokomo is going to be a veritable parking lot. :)

It's all the signage on the building walls that I'm missing.  (There's not a brick building to be found in Kokomo, Sargent, or Jefferson.)

Still, I'm liking the cars-on-a-flat idea....

Clint:

This just showed up at the office. It is owned by a construction company, I think from New Mexico. I have never heard of the firm before. I think they brought this in for a party, because it was parked by the front door of the party space in our complex. The trailer was almost nicer than the truck (think CARS). We have a local GC that has a 50s pickup (also cherry red) that they bring to groundbreakings and drive in parades.

I could not tell which guy was the owner/ handler. I did pick up that it has parts from two vehicles. I am not enough of a car guy to know much more than what I said in the first post: it is a sweet ride.

That is all I know.

Very funny, Chris. You clearly have not driven on I-70 lately. That is pretty much the scene on Floyd Hill all the time now.

Chris, I ran into this picture yesterday also. It's one of the few shots of this side of the depot. Too bad an exact year was not given. It is nice to see how elaborate the paint scheme was on the doors and trim. The call number is X-2330.

More cars and trucks ready for the paint shop.

The tracks I ordered from NJ had a number of modifications revealed when the paint was scrubbed away.
