I posted
part 1 &
2 of this series that attempts to chronicle the history of the restoration of the C&Sng's Georgetown Loop.
Part 3 follows the group running the Central City Narrow Gauge Railway as they take the final step to see if they really want to take on the Loop project. It follows them into their meeting with the Colorado Historical Society, taking a Seabee commander with them. After all systems are "go," Operation Silver Spike begins and motive power begins to arrive including the first steam engine on site since the 1939 scrap train. Lastly, the text takes you to see the very first train operated on reconstructed trackage out of Silver Plume in 1974.
As always, if you know more or have corrections, I would love to know.
Enjoy,
Kurt
