The Many Lives of Georgetown Station

Kurt Maechner
Back in 2014 I had the chance to interview one of the long-time owners of the former C&S Georgetown, Colorado station.  From that information, I wrote a piece for The Bogies and the Loop's January 2015 edition chronicling the depot's post-abandonment life.

I recently came upon an old 1998 brochure for the Georgetown Loop.  The brochure shed a little more light on the use of the old C&S Georgetown Depot during the late 1990s/early 2000s so I am reposting this article with that new information and with images from the brochure.

Enjoy!
Kurt

In 1987 when I made a solo trip through Colorado and was still learning about the C&S. I ate at the Alpine inn (I think it was breakfast) and did not know what it was at first until I saw a picture on the wall inside. Rode the loop later.
