Thanks for posting these, I don't mind the size or if they've been posted before. Sometimes it helps to have images brought back to light. If someone knows if and where these were posted, please post a link, was probably a great thread.

Ok, weird question.  In the top photo is the guy with his hand on the door really tall or is the guy next to him really short?  It does appear that his left leg is in the snow a bit, but still :)

It wasn't unusual to have tall men around.  Shorter guy's were better off in engine service because we didn't have to duck so much entering the cab.   And I did fire once for "Boots", he'd sit in the seat with his feet on the front window and his head resting against the back window.  My Road Foreman, was nicknamed "Big Bird" and stooped at doorways to walk around inside the Depot.

  The men in this crew are identified in a book ....  can't remember
which one.  Perhaps someone does ?  And perhaps, knowing who
the tall guy is, we might know if he really was exceptionally tall ?
I do note that he is half as tall as the rotary itself.
