I've looked at this Chris, many times. For the life of me, I can't find the abutments or bases for the trestle that paralleled the bridge and was used for the siding. I guess it's another historic mystery.

Interesting that both the Romley and Waterton bridges (and the old Deansbury bridge) have iron support structures, but wooden stringers.

Hi Rick,

The abutments and bases for the trestle on the siding were seemingly removed prior to the subject picture. You probably are aware
that there are 2 pictures by Neal Miller on page 246 of "C&S Highline Memories" by Klinger that show the bents in question.

Mineral Belt 2 has a down on shot at a distance, those Neal Miller pictures in Highline Memories show the trestle Batterposts interwoven with the Steel structure.  I drove past it I didn't have time to check out the bridge in 1992, when I came back in '94 there were two clowns with peashooters banging away in the gully so I kept on keeping on.
