Apparently the owner of PSC, Mark Morganson, is retiring and has ceased all imports. The parts business has reportedly been sold to a Washington based company, and is expected to carry on as before. Not sure when that transition will happen. Division Point, in Boulder, has taken over all current import projects, including narrow gauge. The PSC Website now shows only catalogs and parts information.
While not devastating news, it is too bad to see PSC go by the wayside. I'm sure we will have more news as it becomes available.
Just preparing a PSC order. I need to have an entry in the "What's on Your Bench 2018" thread. Without PSC castings, I would be hard pressed to make the "What's on Your Bench 2028" thread!
Seems quite a few of the established manufacturers have come of age recently- I am hoping the new owners don't ruin a good thing.
Interesting. I thought Division Point was part of PSC. Evidently they're different organisations (or is Division Point being spun out as part of this change)?
Any info on who the buyer of the PSC parts line is?
FWIW, looks like Grandt Line's decision to close up is driving a lot of business to them--in addition to their message thanking everyone for their patience, the website looks like it's hitting capacity--I've gotten 'Resource limit exceeded' messages twice today as I try to finalize an order.
Official Notification. Please Read for parts information.

I have tried to copy the following text from a PDF file, and had to try to convert it into readable text. This was originally on PSC letterhead.
Dear Dealers,
April 17, 2018

We sincerely hope you will continue to support them as you have us for the past 45 years!

We are also no longer importing brass ready to run model trains at this time.
We greatly appreciate your business over the years and more importantly all the friendships we have made! We
will miss you all!
Thanks Mike! In support of the theory that these things happen in waves, I was in touch with Dave Rygmyr of Northwest Short Line earlier today (we used to work together, and we've stayed in intermittent touch). I'd asked him if he'd known anything about the PSC sale, given that they were just a couple miles north of him in Montana.
I've known his wife Lynda was going through a fairly scary health issue, but the gravity of that truly sunk in when he mentioned he would consider offers for NWSL so that he can turn his full attention to aiding her, and that he was fine with letting people know that.
Turbulent times indeed...
