I will attach a photo of my railroad room which took me three years to dig out under my house. Just getting started with building actual railroad. Como will be in the middle, upper level. Place is a mess but that is the way I am.

not a modeler myself, I can see the group lending a greater
ear to your other interests if they see you share the larger
picture interest that this board is about.  Good on you.

BTW - that is one helluva layout room !  Even this non-
modeler wants to see more of that.

Thanks guys, to everyone, for the comments on my model.
I am not unlike yourselves, I have a passion for modelling and I try to do some everyday. It is indeed a great pleasure.
I will speak from the heart how I feel because my passion for research and explaining the depot is like an illness or madness that must be brought to an end and I can see that that end is not far away. Something that I am very grateful of.
 This is how I feel and I know that it must be a form of psychosis or something for I do have a rational mind. Around the time that I decided to model a railroad as a hobby I was messing about with forms of yoga in the spiritual form along with the physical form. I was opening myself up to send people that I love, family, friends energy on an ethereal level. In those meditative states, I could feel the presence of others entering my luminous being. That is when I became interested in railroads. Not just any railroad but one specific building from one specific railroad. A railroad that I had never heard of and you may appreciate that since I live on the other side of the world.
 I feel possessed but rationally thinking, obsessed. I feel like the spirit of the depot wants its history to be known and it will not leave me until it is done showing me what to show you. We then, are almost finished together and I hope the spirit will return to its old home. It will, when it is done. I will build my railroad, and I trust that the spirit will watch over me and I hope and expect, visitors to its home. Please welcome the return of the spirit of the depot. Quietly of coarse or you might get locked up! Lol.

Yes, insane, but fully focused too.

Must admit, I do like when I go into that deep sleep to the other side and wake with thoughts prompting me to look at specific areas of the depot for understanding. But I have a life to live and I need to focus on my work much more at present.

Great looking Depot!
Very nice detail. I really like the photographer taking a picture.
There is a picture out there of some kids sitting on that end bench. I had thought about adding some kids in that spot on my layout.
Now you gave me the idea of having the photographer taking the picture of the kids in the scene also. Then print out the real picture and hang it up on the layout. Feel free to take my idea.

I have often wondered if there is a boy in the window also and or maybe a refection of the photographer in the glass. Maybe it is just my imagination running wild but I think the glass would have been flat facing the photographer.





Anyway, on my model, I put the reward poster in the wrong spot!
I am going to use the top photo again when I discuss the depot being stepped back from the hotel.

You would want to have your spark arrestors and Insurance policies firmly in place mid summer and in the prevailing winds. Its no wonder the Pacific caught alight in the roof. Was that in the Summertime?

That is the photo I was thinking of.
I had wanted to get a picture of myself sitting there while my Dad and I where out there. Just never got around to it.

you may be correct in that the fire started in the kitchen. I had an idea that the fire was believed to be started in the roof.
We need to check the B&L articles on the Pacific.

I guessed it was Don.
And nothing wrong with HOn3 either. I chose O scale because I need to do a lot of scratch building and my eyes are going to be failing me in the coming years. Don`t actually have the room for a fully operational layout in O scale but am compensating by having a double loop on the lower level with both ends ending in the centre at different levels. A bit like a paper clip in shape, under and over. Lead to the upper level will have a switchback up to Como and maybe some other sections of the South Park line.
 Would just go crazy over a George Sebastian Coleman engine house kit if I could get my hands on one.

Robert, I tried to read up on the cause of the Pacific Hotel fire. Could not find anything in MC Poor`s book or in the B&L. It would be interesting to follow through on.
